About Luna Tierra Casa de Parto
Luna Tierra Casa de Parto was formed as a cross-border collective of midwives with the deep belief that a strong, healthy pregnancy and birth leads to a strong, healthy community.
They provide respectful, safe, and radically affirming birth and reproductive health experiences while building resilient community on the border, one family and one birth at a time.
In 2025, Casa de Luna marked eight years of serving families from their birth center location. During this time, they have grown alongside their community, expanding culturally rooted midwifery care and developing free support programs that respond directly to what families are asking for.
Their mission extends beyond clinical care. Casa de Luna–Tierras is intentionally working to change birth on the border by training new birth workers who are rooted in the communities they serve. Historically, many birth workers in the region came from outside the community. Casa de Luna–Tierras is actively shifting this dynamic by building pathways for local families, doulas, birth assistants, and future midwives to step into birthwork.
Programs Supported Through Fiscal Sponsorship
Donations administered through Monarch Midwives help sustain Casa de Luna–Tierras’ community programs, including:
• Community-based midwifery education and mentorship for emerging local birth workers
• Monthly postpartum mental health support groups
• Free community gatherings and educational offerings in partnership with El Jardín
• Trainings for doulas, birth assistants, and future midwives
• Community reproductive health education and outreach
These programs strengthen birthworker pipelines, increase culturally responsive care, and support families across the border region.
